Stinging Nettle gets its name from the pricking thorn-like barbs that inject a serum if touched. The herb is common in countries of Egypt and a few in Europe. The herb has a long history as a urinary tract rectifier and chronic inflammation reliever when consumed properly as followed by Egyptians. It was even used as a stimulant to keep senses of touch in extremely cold conditions by European soldiers. There are many benefits of Urtica Dioica beneath its needles causing allergies. There are significant side effects, which are an unavoidable factor for many herbs.

The consumption of the herb is generally after a long process as both shoot and leaves have the needle-like structures. They are collected with care, dried, freeze-dried or cooked before powdering or preparing to be a concentrate. The roots also carry medicinal value, which is most often consumed as tea or extracts, but not as common as the leaves. The drug even frequently in combination with common diseases like cold and fever has never been through proper research and studies so it's not advisable for children to directly consume the herb extracts.

  •  Blood Sugar and Blood Pressure Levels

Stinging Nettle Root is advantageous for people with high sugar, but even then unregulated consumption might mess the situation.   • Kidney Condition

As we said, stinging nettle roots help with urinary tract infections. It can also worsen the situation by interfering with other medicines. The stinging nettle has a direct impact on the lithium levels, which can alter the kidney condition.

  • Other Precautions

These medications are identified to interfere with stinging nettle and worsen the body condition – blood thinners and diuretics. The plant is also diuretic in nature, so added with diuretic pills doubles the effect, and pushes other extreme conditions. The same is the state of blood thinners when supplemented with Urtica Dioica extracts.
